Leading Community Change

PASCAL Associate Norman Walzer will lead a discussion on common elements of successful community change activities in Midwestern communities, based on his research of best practices.

Dr. Walzer is senior research scholar in the Center for Governmental Studies at NIU, where he studies local economic development practices, successful community change approaches and innovative measurement programs. His most recently published books include Community Visioning Programs: Processes and Outcomes (Routledge Press, 2012) and Entrepreneurship and Local Development (Lexington Books, 2007). He recently edited a special issue of Community Development on Innovative Community Changes and one on Innovative Measurement and Evaluation of Community Development Practices containing best practices.
