UNESCO UIL Learning Cities Awards 2019 announced

The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) Awards for learning cities 2019 have been announced. 10 cities have been judged to have made significant progress in promoting quality education and lifelong learning possibilities for all, they are:

PASCAL's Facebook page continues to attract new followers - 78 people have liked the page in the last 3 weeks.  Welcome all. in the week to 1st July, the page reached 1.1k people, who had 62 'engagements' with posts on the page.

On Twitter, PASCAL now has over 3450 followers. PASCAL tweets had 32.5k impressions in the last 28 days. In that period the top tweet attracted 3.3k impressions and 33 engagements.

PASCAL's paper #learningcities weekly is published every Wednesday.

This symposium on 15 March 2018 at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) discussed findings of two research studies. Learning and Place - new newspaper from PASCAL

Today sees the first edition of the new PASCAL daily newspaper 'Learning and Place', which replaces the long-running 'Observations' paper. Content in 'Observations' had become more and more diverse as PASCAL's Twitter following continues to grow.  The new paper will be more focussed on the PASCAL themes, drawing together the best pieces from social media into one convenient place.

Glasgow's Resilience Strategy

Glasgow was one of the first cities to join the Resilient Cities programme supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and has now published its Resilience Strategy, the first UK city to do so. The approach taken by the City to the development of the Strategy was one of the features of the City's presentation at the PASCAL Learning Cities conference in June.
