The 2020 Vietnam Sustainability Forum (VSF 2020), co-organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) and the Academy of Policy and Development (Vietnam), will take place on March 23-24, 2020 in Hanoi, Vietnam. It aims at providing an international exchange platform for global leaders and stakeholders (policymakers, academics, businesses, entrepreneurs, and NGOs) to present and discuss worldwide initiatives, practices, and visionary trends about sustainability.

The ultimate goal is to achieve the long-lasting development of an inclusive and equitable society whereby prosperous growth goes together with a sustainable environment. The VSF2020 is honored to welcome two Keynote Speakers:

  • Professor Tom Kompas (Professor of Environmental Economics and Biosecurity, Centre for Environmental and Economic Research, University of Melbourne, Australia)
  • Professor Shunsuke Managi (Distinguished Professor of Technology and Policy & Director of Urban Institute at the Kyushu University, Japan)

and a Guest Invited Speaker:

  • Professor George Filis (Professor of Financial Economics, Bournemouth University, United Kingdom)

Researchers and academics are invited to submit their full papers for presentation at the forum. The Scientific Committee encourages submissions of research and policy-oriented papers on various topics related to sustainability, which include, but not limited to:

  • Climate Change Management and Policy
  • Education and Training Strategies for Sustainable Development
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Energy Transition
  • Social Dimensions of Sustainability

Publication Opportunities

Economic Analysis and Policy, a journal of the Economic Society of Australia (Queensland) Inc. (Elsevier) will publish a special issue, under the Guest-editorship of Prof. Duc Khuong Nguyen (IPAG Business School & Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs), Dr. Viet-Ngu Hoang (Associate Professor of Economics, QUT Business School, Australia), and Dr. Anh Minh Tang (Research Director, Ecole des Ponts ParisTech), on the theme "Climate Change, Uncertainty, and Adaptation Strategies: Modelling, Policy Framework and International Coordination”. Journal’s normal refereeing process will apply. See more details on the call for papers.

The World Review of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development will publish a special issue, under the Guest-editorship of Prof. Duc Khuong Nguyen (IPAG Business School & Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs) and Dr. Anh Minh Tang (Ecole des Ponts ParisTech), on the specific themes of the VSF and the Journal, and particularly "the issues central to the global efforts to implement the United Nations' "Sustainable Development Goals" (SDGs), acting in the nexus between sustainability, science and technology, helping deliver the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda”.

Candidate papers must be presented at the VSF and extended versions of papers are being invited for review and potential publication.
