Please find attached below the Call for Papers for Volume 9 of the journal Skills&Work, together with a copy of the last edition of the journal, Volume 8.

The theme selected for Volume 9 is ‘Job Creation and the Stimulation of Business’. Contributions are invited on the following subthemes:

• Clusters
• Business incubators/ Incubation processes
• Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs)
• Stimulating private sector-based LED research
• Innovative ways of providing incentives to local companies
• Targeted skills development in the private sector
• Facilitating trade for economic growth
• Business in the informal economy
• Social entrepreneurship

Volume 9 will include a specific focus on KwaZulu-Natal. Submissions relating to the above subthemes at a provincial level are therefore encouraged, as well as research relating to the following sectors in KZN: agro-processing; maritime; liquor; poultry; halaal.

Authors may also propose other topics that are relevant to the overall theme of Volume 9.
