5 Big Ideas for Sidewalk Toronto's First Year 
Sidewalk Toronto has dedicated a staggering $50 million to the engagement and testing phase of their new tech-driven Quayside development. Naturally, we at PPS can’t help but imagine what would be possible with such a large budget dedicated to community engagement and pilot testing. So we made a list of five items that we would prioritize if we had $50 million!

Streets are the most fundamental component of a city’s urban design, but they are not “timeless blanks”; they must shift and evolve along with the changing needs of the city and its inhabitants. In New York—despite solid efforts in recent years to rethink streets by adding bike lanes, corner curb cuts, and free Wi-Fi stations—we are still playing catch-up. Are our cities watching us?
