Wyndham as a Learning Community

Dr Shanti Wong, Learning Community Consultant, reflects on the City of Wyndham and its first Learning Community Strategy (2014-2017). I wrote previously about the City of Melton, the City of Hume and the City of Brimbank and how the idea of fostering learning as a driver for change is spreading throughout Western Metropolitan Melbourne.

Important Information Note: The 2nd International Conference on Learning Cities will be rescheduled

The Government of Mexico City and UNESCO deeply regret to announce that the 2nd International Conference on Learning Cities (ICLC) will be rescheduled. The Conference was to be held in Mexico City, Mexico, from 7 to 9 May 2015.

Brimbank as a Learning City

The City of Brimbank is another city in Melbourne’s western region that has adopted a learning community/learning city approach.  An evaluation of its first community learning strategy (2010-2013) identified that Brimbank City Council and its strategic partners have been successful in developing a culture of learning in the municipality and this has built a solid foundation for future development.

Connecting Cities and Universities at Strategic Frontiers - PASCAL 2015 conference in Catania 7-9 October

We are very pleased to announce that the next PASCAL conference will be hosted from 7-9 October 2015 by the University of Catania in Italy with the title, Connecting Cities and Universities at Strategic Frontiers, and under the co-ordination of PASCAL Associate Director in Europe, Professor Roberta Piazza.
