This Briefing Paper, the 29th in the PASCAL series, addresses the paradox of ageing as we also consider ways in which universities are innovating in response to demographic shifts in ageing populations. Innovative concepts such as Age-friendly universities reflect this development.

It is an edited version of Keynote 7 on University Responses to Population Ageing that I delivered at the 17th PASCAL International Conference in Taipei on 6 July 2024. I hope that it is of interest to many within the PASCAL community.
