This workshop gives an opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage acquired as a result of European migration to Australia in the post-war period. It captures a vibrant segment of stories, narratives, history, of specific communities and their journey towards integration in Australia.
Speakers will address topics including: the history of European communities in Australia, European culture and languages in Australia, the role of sport, Anglo communities, Italian, Dutch and German-Jewish Diaspora amongst others.
This event is hosted by Swinburne University of Technology, the Contemporary European Studies Association of Australia (CESAA) and the European Union Centre RMIT University and will be opened by a representative from the European Union delegation.
