New journal of Entrepreneurship Education

Entrepreneurship education has received a considerable boost recently. This has ranged from the inclusion of entrepreneurship in the UNESCO Cork Call to Action to the PASCAL EcCoWell 2 approach to building learning cities.

In addition, a recent Springer publication titled “Entrepreneurial Learning City Regions” (ed James, Preece, Valdes-Cotera) provides examples of entrepreneurial action around the world.

Now a new English language journal of Entrepreneurship Education is being published by Springer. This is being edited from Zhejiang university in China, one of China’s oldest universities, with a UNESCO Professor in Entrepreneurship Education as the editor-in-chief.

This is a timely initiative that merits PASCAL support.

Contributions for the initial issues are due by 31 December.

A New Journal: Entrepreneurship Education

In collaboration with Springer, Zhejiang University and the UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship Education in China launched a new English journal Entrepreneurship Education in May 2016. The first issue will be published in March 2018.

The Journal aims to: 

  • build a platform for communication and dialogue among researchers from different disciplines, such as education, business, management, psychology and learning sciences, to promote the development of conceptualisation of entrepreneurship education; 
  • serve the needs of the governmental departments, education institutions and industry sectors, to enhance the contribution of research and scholarship to entrepreneurship education policy; 
  • become a clearing house of knowledge and information, to improve the quality of practice in the process of teaching and learning of entrepreneurship; and 
  • provide a forum for educators and practitioners, to enhance and support the standing of this field as a sector with its own significant purposes, pedagogies and curriculums.

This Journal is dedicated to the exchange of the latest academic research and practical findings on various aspects of entrepreneurship education. A primary feature of the Journal is to explore the development of global and lifelong entrepreneurship education for all, with particular respect to: 

  • fundamental theories (such as the value, mission and ecosystem of entrepreneurship education, and the relationship between entrepreneurship education and socioeconomic transformation), 
  • policy studies (at national, regional and international levels), and 
  • practical issues (such as the cultivation of key entrepreneurs, the development of curriculum, and the innovation of teaching and learning methods).

Submit your manuscript by 31 December 2017.

Teacher 2020

Staff from the University of Glasgow were involved in an Erasmus+ project to explore what entrepreneurial learning means in different contexts – and to carry out practical experiments with entrepreneurial learning in teacher education and in collaboration with schools from different countries. The handbook represented the culmination of the work of the Erasmus+ project Teacher 2020. It offered a series of examples of projects of entrepreneurial education and an explanation of what made them successful. It also, included reflections derived from the practical initiatives. Using the tool to assess entrepreneurial initiatives and the global framework will help teachers to understand the projects and them in creating their own. http://teacher2020.eu [4]
