Romuald Normand is Associate Professor at the French Institute of Education (Ecole Normale Supérieure, Lyon, France, [email protected]). He is expert/consultant for the French ministry of education. He has developed research on European policies (VET, Lifelong guidance, Higher Education), school accountability and management. From 2006 to 2010, he was member of the European Network of Social Scientists in Education and Training. In 2008, he obtained a Fulbright scholarship for a study visit at the University of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania). Since, he participates to the activities of the European Policy Network on School Leadership and to the project Evidence Evidence-Informed Policy in Education in Europe. Romuald Normand is leading a European Marie-Curie research project “Universities in the Knowledge Economy” (UNIKE). He is member of the editorial board of the British Journal of Sociology of Education, link-convenor for the network 28 “Sociologies of European Education” and co-director of the related series for the editor Routledge.
