The 12th PASCAL Conference took place in Catania, 6th to 9th October, 2015. Over 100 attendees from 17 countries across the World discussed the theme of Connecting Cities and Universities at Strategic Frontiers in the context of such topics as Big Data, the future of the university, university-community engagement, migration and sustainability.

A highlight of the UNESCO 2nd International Conference on Learning Cities in Mexico City was the conferring of UNESCO Learning City Awards to twelve cities who have demonstrated how they are implementing the Key Features of Learning Cities to improve the quality of people’s lives.
