4th European Fair of Education for Sustainable Development
The details on the 4th European Fair of Education for Sustainable Development, to be held in Hamburg on 9-11 September 2015 are now available. The event´s theme is "“Implementing Sustainable Development in European Cities and Regions”, and the call for papers is open until the 30th January 2015. Please make sure you send us your abstracts by then.
The Fair supports the implementation of the following priorities of the Global Action Programme, agreed as the follow-up to the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development:
- Integrating sustainability practices into education and training environments (whole-institution approaches);
- Increasing the capacity of educators and trainers;
- Empowering and mobilizing youth; and
- Encouraging local communities and municipal authorities to develop community-based ESD programmes.
An intrinsic purpose of the event is to document and disseminate the wealth of experiences on education for sustainable development available across Europe today. To this purpose, the book “Implementing Sustainable Development in European Cities and Regions” will be published, with all accepted papers. This will be a further volume of the new “World Sustainability Series”, a leading book series on sustainable development published by Springer, one of the world´s top 5 academic publishers.
Participation is free of charges, so anyone interested can attend the event. The RCE Hamburg and Region is looking forward to welcoming you in Hamburg in September.
