Webinar invitation: Human and civil rights protection during the COVID-19 crisis

The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) cordially invites you to a webinar on human and civil rights protection during the COVID-19 crisis.

The impact of COVID-19 on human and civil rights has been felt around the world. Many countries, including many of those where our 173 UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC) members are located, were quick to proclaim a state of emergency. The crisis is revealing how certain groups are disproportionately affected and raises particular concerns for the marginalized and most vulnerable in society.

In order to exchange insights, practical approaches and good practices, members of the UNESCO GNLC are convening a webinar organized by UIL on Wednesday 10 June 2020 to learn from each other how to protect human and civil rights within their communities, about the challenges for urban governments in taking action and to exchange examples of good practice that may inspire and inform measures in other cities.

All education stakeholders, UNESCO GNLC member cities and non-members are invited to join the online event, share their experiences and learn from each other.
