SPLISS Conference Elite Sport Success: society boost or not?
Being involved in sport (events) & cities, you will no doubt have many questions related to the social value of elite sport development for cities. What is the value of organising international events for a city? Should cities invest in elite athletes and elite events? How do cities invest in high performance sport? How can cities contribute to the development of their elite athletes?
Several international experts will answer these questions during the SPLISS Conference on Elite Sport Success; boost for society or not. This unique conference takes places on Wednesday 13 & Thursday 14 November 2013 in Antwerp (Belgium). On Wednesday the conference addresses the role of sport for cities.
The conference aims to identify a future research agenda for the (social) value of elite sport. It will open the debate with policy makers, international sport organizations about the legacy of elite sport investments and elite events. Furthermore it will review the current state of knowledge in relation to elite sport policies, insights in theories, and methodologies in sport policy research by excellent researchers worldwide.
Off course we hope to welcome you for the complete conference. Should you however only want to subscribe for Wednesday there is an adjusted fee. When visiting the conference program on sport & cities on Wednesday 13 November, the fee for participating is just € 195,- (excl. VAT and excl. the optional conference dinner on Wednesday night).
Do not miss out on this unique opportunity to meet with colleagues & experts and register now! I look forward to seeing you in Antwerp in November.
Further information may be found on the conference website.
