This is the first notification and Call for Papers for the UALL Work and Learning Network Annual Conference 2018 - Learning for, at and throughwork: capturing workplace learning for transformative Higher Education.

Conference date: 28 June 2019

Conference location: University of the Arts, Holbborn, London, UK

Cost: £90.00 (UALL Members: £80) includes refreshments and lunch

There will be: keynotes, presentations, workshops, poster sessions, networking.

The conference aspires to contribute to practitioners understanding of pedagogic tools that transcend the traditional modes of operation in higher education and to aid profiessional practice curricula. The day will focus on ways to structure and apply flexibility to empower all work-based learning stakeholders to share implicit and explicit responsibility for new learning that maintains work-life balance and well-being. We will also explore the balance needed between employer’s expertise and scholarly knowledge in order to plan and credit professional engagement within higher education.

The conference will address the following themes:

  • Opportunities and challenges for apprenticeship learning
  • Accreditation and individual recognition of pre-existing learning
  • Mental health and work-based learning
  • Industry credentials and accreditation
  • Working practices organisations
  • Conceptualising Trust amongst partners/ mentors/ coaches
  • Digital Learning (artificial intelligence, online portfolios, learning analytics)

We invite delegates to suggest further collaborative topics for the day’s discussion

Proposals for Conference presentations/ workshops/ posters (300-500 words maximum) should be sent to the co-convenors by the 18th April 2019
