Oct 20 2015 12:30
Australia/Melbourne
RMIT, City Campus
445 Swanston Street, Building 80, level 9, room 12
Melbourne

This workshop will focus on the importance of adult learning, noting how it is so often taken for granted, yet so important for people to participate not only in the workforce, but also in civil and political life. The workshop will use the Goal and associated targets identified in the ustainable Development Goals for 2015-2030, which will be endorsed by the United Nations in September, as the starting point for the workshop.

What do these mean for Australia? Is it time for Australia to adopt a more comprehensive policy framework for promoting and supporting adult learning? What part might different institutions play in supporting the implementation of such a policy? What contribution can Australia make to promoting and supporting adult learning in the developing world?

The workshop will be conducted with:

  • Jose Roberto (Robbie) Guevara, Program Manager, International Development RMIT University and ASPBEA
  • Stephen Dunn, CEO, Adult Learning Australia (ALA)
  • Dorothy Lucardi, Adult learning Australia (ALA)

This event is part of Melbourne Knowledge Week 19 – 25 October 2015, proudly presented by the City of Melbourne.
