We are in a changing context of education that presents challenges to learners, teachers, parents and society alike.  Global leader in educational research, policy and practice (and former Deputy Director-General, UNESCO), Emeritus Professor Colin Power AM FACE, will present "Changes and Challenges in the Power of Education: What keeps you awake at night?" in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

This twilight forum on 9 November with panel chaired by PASCAL Board member, Peter Kearns OAM FACE, will address the forces linking people's lives "more deeply, more intensely and more immediately".

CHANGES & CHALLENGES IN THE POWER OF EDUCATION - What Keeps You Awake at Night?

We are in a changing context that presents challenges for educators, learners, parents and society alike. What kind of education do we require to create and build the world to which we aspire?

Mr Peter Kearns (OAM FACE) will chair, introducing our speaker and panelists to inspire, stimulate and draw from audience engagement on burning issues. Questions such as: “Are we assenting or dissenting in silence?”, What bugs you about education today?”, “Are you ‘extractive’ or ‘inclusive’?”, “How are identity politics impacting?”, “How do we create and equip for educational and career excellence?”, “What more can education do?” will help resolve “What Keeps You Awake at Night?”, towards embedding an education and learning culture that “empowers individuals and nations”.

Guest speaker: Emeritus Professor Colin Power AM FACE

A global leader in educational research, policy and practice, Power is the former Deputy Director-General, UNESCO. Prior to this international work, he held esteemed positions across secondary and tertiary education in Australia. Power’s presentation will explore ten key themes:
