Commission on Widening Access in Scotland - Response

A Commission on Widening Access to HE has been set up in Scotland, and states the following:

The recent Programme for Government sets out the Scottish Government’s vision of a fairer, more equal Scotland.  Central to that vision is the ambition that a child born today in one of our most deprived communities should, by the time he or she leaves school, have the same chance of going to university as a child born in one of our least deprived. The Commission on Widening Access has been established to advise Ministers on how this ambition can be met.

Yesterday was the deadline for submissions of evidence to the Commission - attached please find the response from PASCAL Director, Professor Michael Osborne, in his role as Director of the Centre for Research and Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning. PASCAL and CR&DALL subscribers may wish to look at the website of the Commission and comment on his response.
