New Hungarian adult education journal - Andragogy and Cultural Theory

Under scrutiny in the papers of the first issue of the 2014 volume of Andragogy and Cultural Theory are again the cultural contexts, with a special focus on the interrelatedness of the individual and the community. Ongoing or expected changes of attitudes are analysed in the fields of community education, adult learning and local perceptions of the built environment.

Public education or community education? Controlled or mutual learning processes? Identity strengthening or relativizing identity formation? A master-concept versus spontaneous development of the urban environment? It seems that new encounters, creative and more cooperative flexible attitudes are emerging, yet they still seem to aim at maintaining the continuity of traditions and of achieved complexity within our socio-cultural worlds.
