Thirteen expert contributors from diverse sectors envision what new, more resilient, and equitable districts might look like on higher ground, as we learn that not every risk can be mitigated. CoMotion MIAMI brings together the brave new world of the urban mobility revolution - with a special focus on the extraordinary dynamism in Miami and South Florida, and in Central and South American cities. We are excited to announce the theme of the conference: “Future Mobility: Innovation+Resilience." Global mayors, leading technologists, public transport operators and venture capitalists, start-ups and established players — the entire landscape of new urban mobility will be present for two days of immersive and inspirational talks, demos, test drives & exhibitions.
In partnership with the St. Louis Development Corporation, Midland States Bank, and the Heartland St. Louis Black Chamber of Commerce.
This two-day conference will focus on the innovative solutions St. Louis is employing, ranging across crucial topics such as housing and real estate, mobility and transportation infrastructure, opportunity zones, social and environmental sustainability, economic development, and talent attraction. We will look at all of these themes through lenses of equity, inclusion, and community participation. The event will explore these topics via a mix of interactive formats, such as keynote speeches, panel sessions with Q&A, “TEDx style” presentations, workshops, visits to key sites throughout St. Louis, and networking activities. We are also delighted to share that Mayor Lyda Krewson will be joining us to deliver the opening keynote.
Last year, NewCities and UrbanLeap set out to establish a baseline for urban innovation. We wanted to better understand the ongoing, evolutionary journey of how public servants discovered, tested, and shared ideas to improve their city.
Together with Civic Pulse, we surveyed 581 local and regional public sector representatives from all over the United States and Canada about their approach to innovation. On Thursday, March 5th, 2020, we will be hosting a webinar which takes a deeper dive into the survey themes and data, and will shine a spotlight on how a number of cities are approaching common challenges, defining success, discovering new ideas, piloting solutions, and sharing results.
