The Vice Chancellor of Melbourne University, Professor Glyn Davis, is giving the 2010 Australian Broadcasting Commission's Boyer Lectures on the subject "The Republic of Learning".

The Boyer Lectures are delivered annually on a significant subject of general public interest. The title for the 2010 Boyer Lectures has echoes of Erasmus and the republic of letters and develops the theme that the republic of learning should be available for all. The lectures are available as audio and as a podcast at ABC Radio International.
