The Project for Public Spaces connects people who share a passion for public spaces. Here is a special appeal:
Life happens in public space.

Public space is for playing, meeting, buying, selling, and bumping into people we know. It is how we get to work, do our errands, and come back home again. It is where we lay our most fundamental infrastructure and where we reach for our highest aspirations through celebration and protest.

When we neglect it, public space can be boring, dangerous, unequal, and polluted. But when we cultivate it through placemaking, public space can become the cornerstone of community wellbeing. 

That is why this #GivingTuesday—a global day dedicated to giving back—we ask you to advance the cause of placemaking by becoming a supporter of Project for Public Spaces.

Here is a glimpse of what you can help us achieve in 2019:

  • Expand access to our services, particularly in communities without the means to hire a private placemaking firm or attend a training;
     
  • Invent, test, and share new strategies to address pressing social, environmental, and economic challenges through placemaking;
     
  • Create new online resources, like case studies, toolkits, and webinars, to support the work of placemakers around the world.

Join us in our efforts to ensure that every community has the right and the ability to shape their own public spaces.
