Michele Schweisfurth is Professor of Comparative and International Education at the University of Glasgow. She is also Senior Research Fellow with the Education Research Team at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (formerly DFID), and was recently a member of the Independent Evaluation Committee for the Global Partnership for Education.  Her research situates classroom pedagogical process in the wider context of education policy, cultures, and global drivers including the SDGs and norms of ‘best practice’. She has published widely in these areas.  She is currently engaged in two interdisciplinary funded research projects, including acting as Education lead for the seven-country Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities project.  She is previous Chair of the British Association for International and Comparative Education; previous Chair of Trustees for the UKFIET Education and Development Forum; and previous editor of the journa,l Comparative Education.
