Danielle Marie, Learning & Partnerships Coordinator from Brimbank City Council, will be leading the discussion. She will provide insights from extensive community consultation for the development of a new Lifelong Learning Strategy.

Joining Danielle are Sharyn Wheatcroft, Learning Community Officer from Wyndham City Council (a PASCAL Learning City), and Silvia Velez, Lifelong Learning Officer from Melton City Council. They will share their recent experiences in community engagement projects, including consultation for a new Learning Community Strategy in Wyndham and the “Pearls of Wisdom” pilot project in Melton during Seniors Month.

Friday Forum is a collaborative and informal platform where practitioners come together to share experiences and insights. We encourage everyone to actively participate by sharing their own experiences in applying community engagement principles and processes. For this session, we are particularly interested in:

  • What are the methods you use to design your engagement with community? For example, do you follow a particular Community Engagement Framework?
  • What are some success stories of ways to engage communities in the whole lifecycle of programs – from design to evaluation?
  • How do you engage with the most disengaged (or hard to reach) people in our community?
  • How can we better collaborate with internal and external service providers within local government to reach disengaged communities?

****Overseas colleagues from USA and Europe – please note the time difference means this will take place for you on Thursday.  The meeting will be recorded if you cannot make it to the live session
