Asia Pacific University-Community Engagement Network seeking membership contacts
Dear Friends,
Many of you will recall the exciting International Conference on Community-University Engagement that the University of Science, Malaysia (USM) organized in November of 2009. One of the outcomes of that event was the creation of the Asia Pacific University-Community Engagement Network. Dr. Susie See Ching May is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor at USM with the responsibility for the further development of this network.
She is asking for help in establishing contacts with universities in the region. She has sent the following note to GACER. I would ask you to pass this message along within your networks. Please feel free to contact Dr. Susie See Ching May directly.
The GACER philosophy on networks and networking in the field of CUE is that we have a large and diverse world and that the advancement of the Community University Engagement movement benefits from more rather than fewer networks. Our networks will find their specificity empirically in the real world of policy and practise so do not feel shy to help the APUCEN even though you are already part of another network. This is not like loyalty to football clubs:)
She says
The Asia Pacific University-Community Engagement Network is an initiative of USM, and I would like to ask for your kind assistance to direct our Executive Summary and membership form to the universities that you know would be interested to join this network. We need universities from the following countries:
