FACE 2011 Annual Conference - Final programme and directions
Attached is the final programme for the Conference. This is provided for advance information as a paper copy will be inserted in each delegate pack.
Also attached are a map of central Glasgow - showing the Conference venue marked on the corner of Gibson St and Kelvin Way - and the detailed map (already distributed) of the venue street itself. Again, these will be provided in the Conference pack but those registering recently may find them useful in arriving on Wednesday.
The overview map shows the main Glasow rail stations (to the bottom right)(rail lines marked in red) and also the Underground stations (rail line marked in orange). The latter, if you are outside walking distance, are the most convenient way to travel round central Glasgow.
The nearest Underground station to the Conference venue (5 minutes walk) is 'Kelvinbridge'. The Glasgow Underground is a double ellipse with two lines - an 'Inner' and an 'Outer'. If travelling from the City Centre, take the 'Inner' line and alight at Kelvinbridge. To return to the City centre, take the 'Outer'.
As noted previously, buses are provided for transport to the City Chambers on Wednesday evening but, if a fine evening (possible but not guaranteed!) delegates can take the Underground to 'Buchanan St' station.
This is at the opposite side of George Square from the City Chambers.
Delegates should note that the CR&DALL office will not be staffed after Tuesday this week and any enquiries should be raised at the Conference venue.
