I was delighted to have been invited to the Formal Launch of the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education at the University of Victoria on 4 March. This event took place in the Ceremonial Hall of First People's House at the University of Victoria.

First People's House is a space of spiritual, ceremonial and intellectual activity designed along principles of Coast and Straits Salish Indigenous Peoples, a modern interpretation of what is called in this area of the world a "Big House".  Here you see the joint chairs, Budd Hall and Rajesh Tandon, the architects of this development.
