Brittany/Cornwall: What relations?
The Centre de Recherche Bretonne et Celtique (CRBC’s) first Rencontres Bretagne-Monde Anglophone in 2012 marked the beginning of a series of biennial conferences that will continue until 2020.
This event coincided with the outstanding exhibition Gens de Cornouaille(s) held at the Musée départemental breton, which offered a comparative perspective on the work and vision of artists from these twin regions between 1880 and 1930.
The Rencontres brought together researchers from either side of the Channel in an effort to find the links that unite and have historically united these regions and to bridge a significant gap in research. Their work, compiled here in the first volume entirely dedicated to the subject, will hopefully throw light on this new and promising field of study.
