Short summary note on 11th Hungarian Universities Lifelong Learning Conference
The 11th Hungarian Universities Lifelong Learning Conference was organised around the theme of "Higher Education and Social Responsibility - Knowledge Transfer through Collaborative Actions and Engagements" so as to open up dialogue around the social dimension of HEIs and related actions.
There is a growing demand in Hungarian University communities to discuss and debate some challenging aspects of quality education and training wih reference to validation to prior knowledge, cVET (Continuing Vocational Education and Training) and training for trainers/educators. Another aspect was equal access and opportunities with a focus on dignity, equity, social cohesion and citizenship education. A third dimension signalled the call for partnership-based knowledge transfer, learning communities and learning cities developments which put an emphasis on stronger involvement of HEIs in such collaborations, and platform building on a mutual basis.
A good number of presentations, according to the attached programme, demonstrated clear enthusiasm towards the topic of the event and participants, therefore, indicated to continue the gathering at Corvinus University Budapest in May, 2016.
