Glasgow Wins the Smart City Status
Dear Colleagues
It has been announced today that the City of Glasgow has won the Future Demonstrator City Award from the UK Government. This is a highly prestigious and competitive prize awarded to a city then expected to provide blueprints for the future integration of leading edge technologies, integrated planning and urban development. It is worth some £24 million.
The place of Glasgow’s Universities in the citation is very important and points to some major opportunities for education and development. I hope it is another way of highlighting to particularly our new staff the potential in belonging to this institution.
