The University of Glasgow has awarded two funded PhD studentships related to Learning Cities

The University of Glasgow is delighted to announce two funded PhD studentships have been awarded.  Preeti Dagar, currently an International Masters in Adult Educaiton for Social Change (AESC) second year student has been awarded a 3-year studentship by the university with the ESRC GCRF Centre for Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities. She will be supervised by Mike Osborne.

Learning city for creative economy and sustainable development forum to take place in Vitebsk, Belarus - October 19-20, 2018

I’m delighted to report following my attendance and keynote presentation at the conference “Education for Values: Continuity and Context” in Moldova on April 27-28, 2018, PASCAL has been able to re-inforce its co-operation with DVV whose offices in Eastern Europe were represented strongly. This week I met Oleg Smirnov, Director, Representative office DVV International in Ukraine to discuss further co-operation during his visit to Scotland.

SUEUAA (Strengthening Urban Engagement in Universities in Asia and Africa) - funding from the EC for staff and student exchanges

We are pleased to announce that the work of SUEUAA project, which concerns strengthening the urban engagement role of universities in Africa and Asia, will be extended through staff and student exchanges as a result of a successful institutional application by the University of Glasgow to the European Commission's Erasmus+ 2018 Key Action 107, Higher education student and staff mobility between Programme and Partner Countries - International Credit Mobility.

New funding for Erasmus Mundus Masters at the University of Glasgow

The School of Education at the University of Glasgow, the European base of PASCAL is pleased to announced further success within the Erasmus Mundus programme that will support one existing International Masters degree and two new Masters. 

PASCAL Collaborator candidate for Iraqi Presidency

Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland receives £2m in Scottish Government’s Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan

The Scottish Government has awarded £2m funding through Every Child, Every Chance, its Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2018-22, to Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland (CNS), an innovative collaboration involving staff from the Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change (ROC) in the School of Education working with colleagues in Policy Scotland, What Works and Glasgow Centre for Population Health at the Social Research Hub at Olympia in the East End of Glasgow.  

Glen Postle carries the Baton

I'm very pleased to report that our longstanding PASCAL Associate had the honour of carrying the baton as part of the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay in his home town of Toowoomba.
