During my visit earlier last year to the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad, at the Sumerian wing, I observed among the numerous historical items there, three clay tablets with cuneiform writing and drawings dating back to around 3000 BC. One tablet depicted the drawing of Geometric-Algebraic equations and shapes such as angled triangles, Euclid Theorem similar to it ; the second is a mathematical tablet and the Pythagorean Theorem resembles it; and the third tablet is of the heliocentric drawings of the solar system.

As part of a project entitled, The role of universities in developing skills for Smart Cities, funded by the Scottish Funding Council from its contribution to the University of Glasgow’s efforts to develop activities concerned with the Global Challenges Research Fund, a group of academics from the University of Glasgow (Dr Srabani Maitra, Professor Mike Osborne, Dr Seth Agbo) visited New Delhi on December 6th, 2018, to participate in a Roundtable hosted and organised by the Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) organisation.
