Call for Abstracts - Adult Education 100: Reflections & Reconstructions 2-4 July 2019, Nottingham

Adult education, said Britain’s Ministry of Reconstruction in 1919, “is an inseparable aspect of citizenship, and therefore should be both universal and lifelong”, adding: “We need to think out educational methods and possibilities from the new point of view, that of the adult learning to be a citizen.”

UN Habitat Synthesis Report for SDG 11

As part of the recent United Nations High Level Political Forum on sustainable cities, UN Habitat produced a synthesis report on SDG 11 ‘sustainable cities and communities’.  The report provides a good overview of progress made so far.

University of Bristol first in UK to launch ‘Science of Happiness’ course

The University of Bristol has become the first UK university to launch a ‘Science of Happiness’ course, designed to teach students a set of science-based strategies for living a more fulfilling life.

Starting today, on World Mental Health Day [10 October], the course draws on the latest results in psychology and neuroscience to get to the root of what happiness is and how to achieve it, as well as teaching tangible practices which students can apply in their everyday lives.
