15th PASCAL Conference in collaboration with World Forum for Lifelong Learning In Korea

We are delighted to report a very successful 15th PASCAL Conference, Learning Cities, Learning Societies and the Sustainable Development Goals: Connecting Research, Policy and Practice, in collaboration with the World Forum for Lifelong Learning In Gyeonggi Province, Korea.

The Conference was attended by over 500 delegates including a large international delegation from many countries in Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. The Conference contained many elements, and these will be reported individually in a number of subsequent postings.

PNU hosts SUEUAA international forum

The Philippine Normal University through the Linkages and International Office (LIO) hosted the International Forum on Strengthening Urban Engagement of Universities in Africa and Asia last 28-29 August 2018.

This international forum gathered some 80 researchers, educators and community engagement experts and practitioners from various universities, government and non-government agencies to discuss best practices in urban engagement and extension programs. The forum reaffirmed the roles of the universities in addressing and responding to the needs of the local community.

PIMA Newsletter 19

The PIMA Bulletin Number 19 dated August 2018 can now be read in full below. It features a cluster of four articles about China (PRC) to coincide with a small invitational seminar in Beijing following the PASCAL Annual Conference in Suwon, R of Korea, to explore closer involvement of PRC in PIMA and PASCAL affairs. Note that China hosted the launch event for the UIL Global Learning Cities Network which has gone from strength to strength with the active partnership of PASCAL.
