DFID-ESRC Growth Research Programme

The Department for International Development (DFID) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) are collaborating in a programme on economic growth in developing countries. The DFID-ESRC Growth programme (DEGP) funds world class scientific research on issues relating to inclusive economic growth in Low Income Countries (LICs), with high potential for impact on policy and practice.

The four year project currently works under three major themes:

European Week of Regions and Cities - October 2013

The 11th European Week of Regions and Cities will take place in Brussels from 7 to 10 October 2013. This is the largest annual event devoted entirely to regional policy is being once again jointly organised by the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, in partnership with 200 regions and cities from 30 countries. The partners list is now available on line. A hundred workshops and debates will be held in Brussels whilst another 200-300 local events are being organised all over Europe.

1st Call for proposals: Interrogating Sustainability in Adult Learning Policy: European and Global Perspectives

The ESREA Network in Policy Studies on Adult Education is happy to announce its II Conference: Interrogating Sustainability in Adult Learning Policy: European and Global Perspectives. The Conference will be hosted at Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark on 18-20 June 2014. The 1st Call for proposals is featured below and attached.
