Värmland - the PURE report 'will make it easier for us to keep the speed up'

Board member Professor Steve Garlick was in Sweden last week to disseminate the PURE report for Värmland (see below) at the cluster conference organised by Staffan Bjurulf, Project Manager for the region. Anders Olsson, Enterprise and Innovation Manager for Värmland,  reports that the region has continued the discussion on how to tackle work on a strategy to develop the region's human capabilities.

Call for papers: The 7th International Conference on Researching Work and Learning

The Institute of Vocational and Adult Education at School of Education Science in East China Normal University, cordially invites scholarly papers, posters and symposium proposals for The 7th International Conference on Researching Work and Learning to be held in Shanghai on December 4-7, 2011. The goal of the conference is to facilitate communications between scholars and practitioners in the field of researching work and learning and its relevant areas.

Globalization, and the trans-nationalization of education policy-making which accompany it, have many implications for policy studies in adult and lifelong learning. As globalization deepens, so does its impact not only on national policies, but on how educational research is done.

University of Duisburg-Essen series of online lectures on adult education and lifelong learning

University of Duisburg-Essen held a series of lectures on international research network in adult education and lifelong learning. On the 26th of January ESREA chair Henning Salling Olesen gave a lecture on "International research collaboration - between global challenge and local experience". The lecture was streamed on the internet and can be watched at moodle.uni-duisburg-essen.de.
