Latest news on European research in learning and work - February 2021

In this edition of the L&W Newsletter, you should note in particular the call for proposals to the following conferences: AVETRA 2021 (online) - Recover, rethink and rebuild: All eyes on VET, TAKE 2021 - Theory and Applications in the Knowledge Economy in Porto, the Conference on Employer Engagement (online), the ESREA Network conference on Adult Learning and Communities in Seville, the Cedefop/OECD symposium on Apprenticeships for greener economies and societies (online) and EAPRIL 2021 - Learning in the Age of Industry 4.0 in Kufstein, Austria (see Conferences), and the call for contributions to special issues on: Emergent issues in research on VET (new volume of research book series), Regional disparities in national education (journal Education Sciences) and Doctoral theses in vocational education (Journal of Vocational Education & Training) (see Publications). Notes from the third meeting of the PASCAL Learning Cities Networks “Reimagining Inclusive Economic Futures” (RIEF) on 6 Jan 2021

Judith James introduced the meeting and explained that Michelle Murphy has been in touch to explain that a funding bid had not been successful, so Derry and Strabane Learning City were urgently seeking funding in order to continue. As a result she would be unable to present slides today.

The first presentation was by Nishat Tasnim Maria, and was a combined presentation about two major cities in Bangladesh- Dhaka (the capital) and Khulna [presentation appears below].

In order to enhance a multi-cultural dialogue between Learning Communities, a dialogue establishing a bridge of inclusivity, overcoming cultural differences, and connecting past – present and future, in order to promote humanistic values that we all share, as a Global Learning Society.
