The ‘Big Society’ in Scotland

Annabel Goldie, MSP was elected as a Conservative regional MSP for the first Scottish Parliament in 1999.  She was leader of the Scottish Conservatives in the Parliament from 2005 – 2011.  She has an LLB from Strathclyde University and worked as a solicitor in Glasgow from 1978.  She is a formidable political debater noted for her application of “common sense”.    

All lectures are free and open to all members of the general public, to students and to members of the academic community.

The lectures are held in the Sir Charles Wilson lecture theatre (corner of Gibson Street and University Avenue) and begin at 6pm.  Each lecture will be followed by questions and discussion and there will be an opportunity to meet informally the speakers at a reception after the lecture.
