Ellen Broad is instrumental in the Open Data Institute’s (ODI) policy work with governments and businesses, exploring how the potential of open data can be unlocked, and data infrastructure designed to maximise benefits for everyone. Ellen has joined the office of the Secretary of State for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), as the Secretary of State’s expert adviser on data.

Professor Marcus Foth is the director of the QUT Design Lab, founder and former director of the Urban Informatics Research Lab, and Professor in Interactive and Visual Design at Queensland University of Technology. Marcus’ research focuses on the relationships between people, place and technology. He adopts human-computer interaction and design methodologies to build engagement around emerging issues facing our cities.

Cat Matson is the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the City of Brisbane and is charged with the digital transformation of the city as a means of accelerating economic growth. As an experienced digital and start-up strategist and respected business leader, Cat drives the Digital Brisbane strategy to improve digital uptake in small to medium businesses, educate children on coding, and support start-ups and budding entrepreneurs.

Dr Colin Russo is a professional futurist facilitator and award-winning engagement expert. Colin has worked in a number of local and state government roles and focuses on the delivery of futures workshops, foresight and engagement 'action learning'. Colin has contributed to the Journal of Futures Studies and The Futures Journal, and has written about city futures, smart state futures and alternative engagement futures.
