Winter School: International perspectives on education policy (IPEP)
This Winter School will consider theories and methods relevant across the field of educational policy research. It is designed for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers of policy in all areas of education, but is suitable also for advanced master students. The School will include an explicit focus on policy related to higher and adult education, but the specific content of activities will be developed in the light of the participants’ profiles.

Send a brief CV (1 pages), accompanied by a letter describing your current area of studies, research or professional activity, and your motivation in participating to IPEP (2 pages) to the following email address: [email protected] by September 15th, 2017.
IPEP Faculty will select candidates and confirm acceptance by October 1st, 2017. Approved candidates should register (free of charge) by October 15th, 2017.
Expected costs
Enrollment is free of charge. Participants should cover their own travel and accommodation costs, as well as all lunches and dinners.
IPEP stems from a synergy between the University of Verona (Department of Human Sciences), Aalborg University (Department of Learning and Philosophy), the University of Nottingham (School of Education), and the Institute of Research on Population and Social Policies of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-IRPPS), co-founders of the International Research Centre for Global and Comparative Policy Studies on the Education and Learning of Adults (IRC-GloCoPoS).

The first edition of IPEP aims to provided participants with:
- Knowledge of relevant theories about international policy-making in education;
- Knowledge of policies by, and the role of, key international organizations;
- Knowledge about relevant methods to study international policy and pol icymaking processes in education
It will be held at the University of Verona (Italy) from 27th November to 1st December 2017. Lectures and discussions on theories and methods will be supplemented with hands-on experience on education policy analysis. During the Winter School, all students will be involved in a small case study on higher education, facilitated by fieldwork (on campus), and joint data analysis.
