We are pleased to report that on 11 March, Dr Shilpi Roy of Khulna University, was honoured with respect to her role as a leading female urban planner by the Bangladesh Institute of Planners, the national professional organization of the Planners of Bangladesh.

Dr Roy is a Co-I within the Centre for Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods (SHLC) and one of the key contributors to PASCAL’s Learning Cities Networks (LCN).

Her award for her leadership in urban research in the 'Women Planner Award (Research)' category was made in the presence of the education minister of Bangladesh, who was the chief guest of the program. Her engagement in SHLC, one of the large research projects in Bangladesh and also her work with UNESCO-IIEP through SHLC, and with other international partners positively impacted the decision.
