Call for contributions for the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022 (WHEC2022) is now open!
Organisations and alliances are invited to produce and share knowledge, research, practices or impactful ideas to enhance higher education institutions and systems, locally and internationally for the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022 (WHEC2022), which will take place from 18 to 20 May 2022 in Barcelona. The invitation is open to diverse entities (within and outside the UN system) willing to establish a partnership with UNESCO under the purpose and main themes of the WHEC2022. Read more here.

Barcelona will host the 3rd UNESCO World Higher Education Conference
What impact has the COVID-19 pandemic had on higher education? How to guarantee an inclusive higher education with relevant and quality programs? How can academic mobility be promoted globally? How can higher education institutions contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals? These and other topics will focus the work of the 3rd World Higher Education Conference (WHEC2022) to be held in Barcelona (Spain), from May 18 to 20, 2022, under the title "Reinventing Higher Education for a Sustainable Future".

GUNi World Report-Special Issue - New Visions for Higher Education Institutions towards 2030 and the GUNi Int. Call for action 2022-2025
We are working on our new GUNi Higher Education in the World Report, entitled "New Visions for Higher Education Institutions towards 2030". This Report will be officially presented and launched at the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022 (WHEC2022) in Barcelona. You will find more information and details in the document "Concept Note - GUNi World Report-Special Issue - New Visions for Higher Education Institutions towards 2030".
All members of the GUNi network will have the opportunity to participate on elaborating together the “Vision” of this new GUNi World Report. Stay tuned for updates in your inbox!
This new GUNi World Report will be the springboard of the “GUNi International Call for Action (2022-2025): Rethinking HEIs for Sustainable and Inclusive Societies”. This project seeks to open the debate on the future of higher education institutions in the current decade, to provide new and inspiring visions for HEIs and to guide and support them in their transformation processes, so that they finally become more relevant, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and socially responsible. We will share more information about this International Call for Action in the coming months.

The impact of COVID-19 on higher education: a review of emerging evidence
Drawing upon 14 rapid-response surveys carried out in 2020 by university networks, student organisations and researchers, as well as over 50 journal articles, reports and publications, this analytical report synthesises the emerging evidence and presents policy recommendations on actions to be taken at the level of higher education systems and by higher education institutions themselves.
