Knowledge Exchange Associate - SDGs in Urban Settings, Glasgow, Scotland
A new post as a Knowledge Exchange Associate, working within the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) Research Support Office at the University of Glasgow is now available. The post holder will be responsible for the identification, development and implementation of new collaborative Knowledge Exchange (KE) opportunities for the Inequalities and Sustainable Development in Low- and Middle-Income Country (LMIC) Cities research group, under the supervision of Professors Sayantan Ghosal, Michael Osborne, Fabrice Renaud and Alastair Leyland.
With a diverse research portfolio addressing several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1-8, 10, 11, 13) the LMIC Cities group represents a critical mass of cross-cutting interdisciplinary, international research activity at the University of Glasgow, and is united by a common focus on researching inequalities and sustainable development challenges in urban settings in Low- and Middle-Income Countries.
The post-holder will be tasked with supporting the LMIC Cities group to achieve its vision of establishing the University of Glasgow as the go-to place for international policymakers, NGOs, urban planners, governments, business and communities in search of innovative low-cost, scalable solutions to the persistent challenges of inequality and marginalisation in LMIC cities.
The Knowledge Exchange Associate's work will encompass identification of new external partners and potential research users, with the aim of developing relationships resulting in new collaborative activities which deliver real-world impact.
Salary will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade, level 7, £35,845 - £40,322 per annum. Deadline for application 9 April 2020.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended with funding available until 31 March 2023.
Interviews are provisionally expected to be held in the week commencing 20 April 2020, though this is subject to the ongoing global Covid 19 pandemic. Interviews if held at the provisional time will be conducted using Zoom or similar technology.
