Learning From Seoul to Control COVID-19: Transparency, Accountability, Solidarity
Greetings from CityNet Secretariat. It has been over two months since the WHO declared COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. Accordingly, many of our member cities have initiated total lockdown and taken a forceful pause on overall economic activities. It led many of those cities under lockdown to struggle with keeping a balance between following social distancing and keeping the nationwide economy afloat.
Unlike most places, the Republic of Korea has managed to contain the spread of the virus without initiating total lockdown. In the midst of the aggravating dilemma with regard to mitigate economic downturn and implement social distancing, Dr. Vijay Jagannathan, CityNet Secretary-General, has released an insightful article focused on Seoul’s successful strategies against COVID-19.
In this article, “Learning From Seoul to Control COVID-19: Transparency, Accountability, Solidarity,” Dr. Vijay Jagannathan emphasized on three key strategies of Seoul’s rapid response based on a recently released "CityNet Consultation Session on Rapid Responses for COVID-19" which was conducted by CityNet Secretariat in coordination with Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Thank you for your time and best regards.
Sincerely,
CityNet Secretariat
