This Must be the Place: Learning by Doing in Mexico City

In early 2016, with support from PPS and the Southwest Airlines Heart of the Community Program, the Lúgares Publicos team set out to better understand the life of Foro Lindbergh, in México City's Parque Mexico. Beers with Engineers: Round 2

Beers with Engineers is a forum in which planners, design professionals, and the public talk to transportation engineers about how to work together to improve our streets and strengthen our communities. PPS recently co-hosted this event at the New Partners for Smart Growth Conference in St. Louis, and we hope to see you in Seattle for the Congress for the New Urbanism conference this May for the next "round"!

Place Talk

Great places need anchors...they need small areas that are full of activities and things to do. It turns out, what this place needed was a place.
- Guillermo Bernal of Lúgares Publicos, on the recent activations in Mexico City's Foro Lindbergh

A focus on place enables one to come at challenges and opportunities from a different perspective, offering up almost limitless possibilities for innovation and creativity.
- Rip Rapson, President, The Kresge Foundation

These are the places we remember most vividly, the places where serendipitous things happen, the places we tell stories about.
