URBANET Newsletter February 2022 – Digitalisation and Governance

How are cities making use of digital possibilities – and how are they themselves shaped by them? We wanted to find answers to these questions and dedicated our February spotlight to Digitalisation and Governance.

Fenna Imara Hoefsloot takes a critical look at Lima's digital water infrastructure, and Bolor-Erdene Battsengel portrays Mongolia's journey to becoming a digital nation.

Abdoul Malick Tapsoba shares insights from Burkina Faso's digitalisation of public administration, and and Michal Lakomski writes on how Poznań is using digitalisation to become a more inclusive city.

In light of International Women’s Day (8 March), our next spotlight will be all about Women in Cities – while one month is nowhere near enough to extensively cover this versatile topic, we hope to present you with great choice of inspiring articles nevertheless.

Not only that, it is also time to launch our next country series! Stay tuned for our focus weeks on Bangladesh – we will kick off with a set of infographics and, in the weeks ahead, will present an array of interesting articles on urban development in this rapidly changing country.

We hope you enjoy reading URBANET!
