  • Seven articles about Faculty for the Engaged Campus, a national initiative of Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) in partnership with the University of Minnesota and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
  • Three articles resulting from the conference Community-Engaged Scholarship: Critical Junctures in Research, Practice and Policy, held November 4-5, 2010 in Guelph, Ontario Canada
  • Three book reviews on topics related to community-engaged scholarship.

Higher Education Reform 2012 Workshop - Pittsburgh Oct 10-12, 2012 - Announcement and Call for Papers

A number of PASCAL colleagues have participated in one or more of the last three Higher Education Reform Workshops in Berlin (2011), Vancouver (2010), and/or Mexico City (2009). I would like to extend a special invitation for you to participate in the next HER Workshop which will be held for the first time in the United States at the University of Pittsburgh from 10-12 October 2012. We are delighted by the co-sponsorship by PASCAL of this event.

White Paper from Association of Land Grant Universities - the Centrality of Engagement in Higher Education

This White Paper offers a historical and philosophical context that can be used by higher education institutions to have a deeper conversation regarding community engagement and its role in informing the discovery and learning missions. Initially it describes historical adherence to this principle and then define engagement among current higher education communities in the US. Next it discusses the role of the engaged university in a dynamic future society which is dependent upon new and advanced sources of knowledge.

Within Europe and the wider world departments devoted to adult education are under threat while universities shift focus from the marginalised to attracting talented researchers and raising their international profile.
