Working in the Middle - Knowledge Mobilisation UK Forum 2014

The ever pressing impact agenda in higher education is encouraging more attention to be paid to the ideas and processes of knowledge mobilisation.  Well established particularly in Canada, the first UK Forum on KMb is taking place in London on 3-4th February 2014.

The forum brings together those with an interest in making connections between the often different worlds of research and policy and practice, recognising that both have their own different goals and functions. It will explore ways of 'working in the middle'  to find better ways of exchanging, mobilising or transferring knowledge to aid its utilisation as evidence for improving policy and practice or as the basis for the co-production of further research.

Expert speakers have been lined up from both the UK and Canada. A link to the full programme can be found below  and there is the opportunity for the submission of posters to demonstrate examples of good practice.

PASCAL has been focussed on linking research to policy since its inception, and has used the idea of the knowledge broker, amongst other actions, to help take this forward. It.is encouraging that  knowledge mobilisation is gaining the prominence it deserves in the UK if the large amount of knowledge being produced is to be used to drive innovation as it should be..
