The first conference on "Lifelong Learning as a Lever for Employment and Gender Equality in Learning Cities" was held on 24 June 2015 in Modi'in in cooperation with the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

The conference was led by The Israeli Center for Learning Cities in Modiin-Maccabim-Reut and was attended by managers and coordinators of local authorities in the areas of Urban Policy planning, Adult Education, Employment, Gender and Social Services. The conference theme complemented the "Learning City" principles for advocating partnerships between sectors and organizations for the promotion of Lifelong Learning.
