The Board of PASCAL is honoured to announce that Tecnológico de Monterrey (Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Wikipedia) has become the next PASCAL Centre, the first in a Spanish-speaking country.  

Tecnológico de Monterrey was founded over 70 years ago as the "MIT of Mexico"; a U21 Institution, it has over two dozen campuses in Mexico (see map) and a dynamic international programme.  With a historic commitment to the teaching of entrepreneurship, including social entrepreneurship, an active programme for life-long learning reaching many people who have not had the chance to pursue higher education, coupled with Mexico's unique programme for college students to serve as volunteers, Tec de Monterrey has much to bring to PASCAL and much to benefit from it. 

Based in Monterrey, Tec de Monterrey has started a long-term initiative to increase innovation and research on campus, coupled with leadership to regenerate the communities around the campus, to create Distrito Tec.  This project can serve as an inspiring laboratory for PASCAL to apply expertise for place-based development serving social and environmental objectives. The global PASCAL community will have the opportunity to engage with a dynamic emerging country that is helping to lead the way forward in Latin America.

The PASCAL Director at the new Centre will be Professor Francisco Javier Carrillo Gamboa to whom we extend our welcome.
